Hi! My name is Ms. Laursen and I am SO excited to be a part of this wonderful school family. More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your child's teacher this year! It's going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us. Here are a few things I wanted to tell you about me. I was born and raised in Marlette and am the third of four daughters in my family. My sister's names are Tiffany, Toccarra, and Tristen. You may know my two older sisters, Miss Tiffany and Miss Carra, who both teach preschool here in Marlette and you may know my mom, Mrs. Linda, as well because she is a bus driver at our school and volunteers in the lunchroom. I have a 15 year old daughter named Savannah, who I spend most of my free time with when I am not teaching. Some of the hobbies we enjoy doing together are cooking, crafting, camping, and reading, which I seem to enjoy more than her. My daughter is going in to the 10th grade, so she is not in our building and I miss her while we are at school. I enjoy watching the Detroit Red Wings, the Detroit Tigers, and have been learning about the game of football watching Notre Dame, which is my boyfriend Ryan's favorite team. This summer I spent at lot of time with my family and painted my classroom bright blue. After high school, I attended SVSU and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and recently my Early Childhood Degree. This is my fifth year teaching here at Marlette Elementary School. I have previously taught Young Five's and I absolutely LOVE teaching this age group! I enjoy watching the children grow and blossom throughout the year and I feel like being a teacher is such a blessing. My goal is to instill a love for learning in to my students and help them to become life-long learners!
